HALLOWED BE HIS NAME

There is a way to enter the throne, and there is a way not to enter the throne. In fact, the way not to enter the throne is such that you will not get there at all if you go that way. So it is important if we want to maximize the effects and the benefits of our prayer that we do it His way.

Matthew 6:9-13 Amp.  Pray, therefore, like this: Our Father, Who is in heaven, hallowed (kept holy) be Your name. Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven (left, remitted, and let go of the debts, and have given up resentment against) our debtors. And lead (bring) us not to temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

What a beautiful recipe for prayer. The Lord Jesus so cared that His disciples—not just the twelve, but you and I and the Church throughout the generations—could reach and affect the throne, that He left with us a prayer to help us know how to touch the heart of God. Of course, our infirmities touch the heart of God. He is a very compassionate Father. He cares very much for our sorrows and needs. In fact, He sends us answers to our needs before we ever ask. It may not get to us for a while, but it is released from His throne before we even realize that we have a need. Remember Daniel! He is not a God that is far off. He is not a God who is indifferent to the cries of His people. So I am not talking about affecting Him by trying to provoke Him to do what He does not want to do. What I am talking about is affecting Him on behalf of our needs as well as the needs of others, and more specifically, the needs of a nation.

In the Bible, we see Daniel who was a high-ranking and righteous man in the kingdom of Babylon. However, he lived his life separated from what Babylon meant and from everything that Babylon was. He would not even eat the king’s dainty foods.

Years ago, I was ministering in a particular city in Oregon. I prayed and prayed and prayed about what God would have me deliver because it was kind of a city-wide function where there were many Churches involved. I asked Him what the most important word for that city was. He said, “If you want to have the anointing of Daniel, you must learn to live like Daniel lived.” That is one thing that the Church has not learned.

We want to pray. We want to affect God and the things that are upon His heart. Do you care about your nation? If you do, you want to know how to pray for the nation, and you want to know that your prayers are going to be effective. God feels just like you. He wants to find an army of people that will, just like Paul said, not be engulfed and engaged in the things of the world. He wants to find Himself an army that will set themselves aside and will purify themselves to become what the Lord needs in order to affect nations. He hears every prayer that is prayed, but there are certain things that the Church needs to affect in this hour that she cannot alter if she stays attached to the world. That is, I am sorry to say, just the reality of the situation.

Some lower level things, such as praying for your family, do not require greater anointing, greater mantles, or greater authority to affect. By lower level, I don’t mean lower in importance. Of course, praying for your family is important. If what you are interested in is praying for friends, for your family, for your Church, and things of that nature, then there probably is not much need to change a whole lot and to separate yourself from the things that greatly affect your place with the Lord. But if you are looking for authority, anointing, or mantles that can change the most critical things on God’s agenda right now, you have to pull away from the world. You cannot sit and watch TV. You cannot handle all the magazines your hands should never touch. You cannot spend your energies running around looking and shopping at the malls. These types of things are not necessarily sin, you understand, but they do impact your purity. If you want the authority to affect high things in God, purity has to be very important.

We want our prayers to hallow His name and to align with the holiness of His name. But we also need our everyday life to hallow His name. I did not understand this for years. When I first became an intercessor, no one was teaching on prayer. I went to the Christian bookstore. You could not find books on prayer, not even by saints who wrote on prayer but have gone on to be with the Lord. There are all kinds of materials out there today instructing and talking about prayer, and trying to encourage the Church in prayer. But back in the very beginning of my Christian walk, you could not find teachings on prayer. Everything that was going on in respect to prayer was kind of a “name it and claim it” type of environment. I guess they thought there was no reason to challenge a Christian on the deeper levels of prayer since everything has been provided and has been done, and we just need to name it and claim it.

So I found myself crying out, “Teach me how to pray.” Am I so ignorant and so naive and the rest of the Church so brilliant that no one needs to teach on this subject? Was I the only one that did not understand it? I didn’t know, but what I did know was there was no one out there to teach me. So I cried to the Lord, “Lord, I want to pray. I want to pray prayers that are going to align with Your heart so that I will know that my prayers are effective, meeting the needs that are important to You at this time.” I would cry, fast, and pray. Have you ever gone through that? Have you ever found yourself crying those same words?

So the Lord began to teach me how to pray. He told me He would teach me how to use the military weapons that He has provided for the Church so that I could not only pray, but be a warrior. You can intercede and move in the higher levels of prayer in intercession, or you can be a warrior, or you can be both. At one point in time, He told me that He has many, many different kinds of anointing that He has placed on different people in the Church for different kinds of praying. So if you pray one way, and your best friend prays another way, and the two of you just cannot seem to get along over this issue of prayer, it might just be that you walk in two different streams. You can still pray together, though. So I learned a long time ago not to try to judge every person that prays or the way they pray because He really does have so many kinds of intercessors in the Body. When you start trying to hold them down, so to speak, you may be stopping something that He is wanting to do. So the important thing is to prepare yourself in such a manner that the Spirit of the Lord can come upon you at any time. He can infuse you with a prayer that is His will at a specific time.

Back in the eighties, a lady that was traveling with me at that time and I went to lunch with two other women. We were sitting there at the lunch table and had just ordered. Before our food came, the Spirit of the Lord came upon me powerfully. He said, “I want you to get up right now, and I want you to go home.” So on my way out of the restaurant, I said, “Why now, Lord? That was a good lunch I had ordered, and I’m hungry. So why are you calling me out now?” He did not answer.

As I walked through the door of my home, the Spirit of the Lord came upon me with a vision that lasted about forty-five minutes. In this vision, He told me what the Church was going to go through. I saw the children of Israel out in the desert wanderings. They were coming to this stop, and going to that stop, moving about by the cloud of the Lord. I heard their murmurings, their complaints, and saw all of their wrestling with the Lord. I saw it all. It was about a forty-five minute vision. I asked the Lord, “Why did You show this to me?” He said, “Because I’m about to carry My Church through the same wandering, and I want you to teach on it. I want you to help them understand why I’m doing this.” So I taught on it. He showed me what it was He was trying to accomplish at every stop the Israelites made. He was trying to reveal one of His names to my people and show us how He wants to work with us as His Church. So I ministered the message. It really was a powerful message, only because it was by divine revelation. It would not have happened, though, if I had not stopped what I was doing right at the moment, missing my wonderful lunch. Do you know that the ladies did not even take the lunch and bring it to me? So I really had to give up a good lunch. But it was worth it for this experience and for what God wanted to show me about the Church.

Now why did I tell you that story? Because at the very moment I got up in obedience to the Lord, going to hear His voice, I hallowed His name. Hallowed be Thy name. Every time you turn from your direction to His, His name is hallowed. Every time you obey Him instead of the inclinations of your heart, your mind, your soul, and your flesh, you have hallowed His name. Now when you hallow His name, He is going to use you to bring about His kingdom purpose. Isn’t that exciting? He will honor those that honor Him. So as we honor His glory, His holiness, His righteousness, and His will, He honors us.

When it comes to prayer, the Lord seems to call at the most absurd times. Have you ever noticed this? I can remember going to a friend’s home; it was Sunday afternoon. Her mother had prepared an absolutely lovely meal. It was just beautiful. I sat down in the chair to enjoy dinner with the family, and the Spirit of the Lord came upon me. So I looked at her, and I said, “I’ve got to go someplace and pray. As you can see, I’m trembling. I really need to go right now.” She was very disturbed. She said, “What?” I said, “I know. I’m sorry. Please forgive me.” My friend’s father said, “You can’t leave this table. Do you see what my wife has prepared?” I said, “I’m very, very sorry. Please, let me just go and pray. I need to go and pray.” So I got up, and she said, “Alright. I’ll just take you to my bedroom.”

I went into her bedroom, and I started praying. The Spirit of the Lord came down. He started giving me a series of very critical visions about things that were going on all over the world. I prayed, and they could hear me pray. This woman herself and her daughter, who was my friend, were also intercessors. Within about ten minutes, the woman who cooked the lovely meal, my friend, and I were all in the bedroom because they came one by one. They could hear the intercession and their hearts were attuned to it. They were just overwhelmed by the Spirit of the Lord and started crying at the table. Now, the husband didn’t understand at all what was going on. He didn’t understand someone being called by God to do something that had to be done right now. Within ten minutes, his table was empty. He had a lovely meal before him, and his wife, his daughter, and this strange person were all in the bedroom weeping, crying, and wailing in his house. He was undone. He had never experienced anything like this. So he got very frustrated and eventually got up from the table without eating, either. But it was a critical call. I love it. I told the Lord, “You just have this way. You call when it’s time to eat. You call when it’s time to sleep. Have You ever thought about calling when there was free time?” So, there are many experiences at inconvenient times.

Have you started thinking about someone that you maybe have not seen in six months, a year, or two years? They are laying on your mind and heart, or you start missing them, and you don’t know why. I can tell you, about 99 percent of the time, you are being called to prayer for that person. Now, in the same respect, you can be called to pray over a nation. If you start feeling grieved over the nation, or you start feeling an incredible love for a nation, or any kind of unusual feelings like that, God is undoubtedly calling you to prayer right then. Something is going on in that nation, and prayer is needed.

I remember a time after President Reagan was voted into office. I was driving down the highway, and I started feeling an urgency to pray for the president. I didn’t know why or what was going on, but I started to pray. Then I began weeping. The Lord gave me a vision that President Reagan was in a Summit, and the decisions that were going to take place in that Summit were very important because they pertained to Israel. As I was seeing these visions, I continued to pray and weep. That went on for two days. I didn’t want to do anything except pray and weep over this Summit. As it turned out, it was put on the news that President Reagan had gone into a private Summit with the heads of state to discuss Israel. Things did not go quite the way they expected them to go. It went very well for Israel. The reason is because God gathered His intercessors—people whom He knew would pray, even if it was inconvenient.

Another time, I woke up in the morning, and the Lord spoke to me. He said, “Don’t have breakfast. In fact, I want you to fast for twenty-one days.” I said, “Oh, okay. Any special reason?” He said, “For Israel.” He showed this in a vision. He said, “The Syrians are lined up. They have armory lined up along the border of Israel hidden where it cannot be found. I want Israel to find it and to destroy it. So I want you to pray and fast for the next twenty-one days.” So I did. At the end of the twenty-one days, Israel found, by surprise, all of this armament that had been lined up along the border. They were shocked. They found it by special confidential information and went and dealt with it. The Lord may have raised up many to fast and pray. That was a critical, critical issue at a critical time. The reason all of that armament had been put on the border was because Syria had planned a surprise attack, and so it was broken. Isn’t that exciting?

Obedience is so important. I feel very fortunate because when the Lord speaks to me, about ninety-nine percent of the time, He will tell me why I am praying or fasting. With my former secretary, it was quite the opposite. He would never tell her anything. He would just say fast, and how long she was to fast, or pray, and how long she was to pray, but He never told her what she was praying or fasting for. So she would just pray in the Spirit for whatever length of time He was calling her. So some know and understand what the call to prayer is for, and some do not. I always respected her for that. She has always been obedient to the call, whether she understood or not. I know if He did that to me, I would mess it up so badly. I have to know and understand what I am praying for. I just have one of those minds.

Why am I saying this? Because every time we take the step to obey, whether we understand or not, we have hallowed His name. The minute you hallow His name, His power comes to work in your prayers. So I really believe that is why He always makes it inconvenient. Then He can interject our praying with His power.

God has prepared and planned for a mighty revolution in this nation. He has prepared the groundwork. He is, even as we speak, beginning to release the Spirit of revolution. What does that mean to us? Think back in time to the days of our Founding Fathers when they were planning a revolution to come out from under the tyranny and ownership of England so that a new Republic could be born. God has already prepared the groundwork and the soil. He sent me here. Why this has to start in the Northwest, I don’t know. I am not Him, and it does not really matter if I understand or not. We can’t really look at the people of Seattle and say it is because of them—not with the wonderful beginnings of Seattle. It is like Israel in the days of old. God did not choose my people because we were so great; we were as rotten as everybody else. He chose to begin something up here, and that something is a revolution. He has prepared the groundwork throughout the nation and in the Northwest to begin this revolution. What the Northwest’s part in it is, I don’t know. When it goes and when the wave rises up in the East Coast, and what their part is in it, I don’t know either. All I know is that a revolution has begun, and it is as real as in the days of George Washington, John Adams, and our Founding Fathers.

This is so real that when the Lord began speaking to me about it and helping me to understand it, I would see our Forefathers in my peripheral. Since before the Gathering this past March, this would happen when I would think or talk about the revolution that He has released. I would see men meeting in little clusters where they are talking about the revolution and what they want to do with it. They would be making plans for America through the revolution. The same kind of thing is happening today. This is really happening right now. God is preparing not only the people that are going to be brought to the forefront in the Church, as well as those in the secular world, but He is also preparing the ground for the nation to follow the tail stream of what they are providing. When all of this is going to break out, I don’t know. He hasn’t told me when it is going to come to a place where we will see it very clearly, happening all around us. What I can promise you from God is that the twelve or thirteen years of work in the Gatherings has prepared the ground for this revolution to begin. God is going to pull us out from under the Illuminati—out from under the control of the Elite—and this nation is going to be restored to the Republic that it was created to be.

Before going to DC, I had been seeing those visions, so it was very real to me. When we went on our prayer journey after the Gathering, I cannot tell you the spectacular things that God did. But in one of the experiences that I had, I saw an eagle as clearly as I would see you. The eagle was going in one direction. Suddenly, he turned a sharp bank and went back in the opposite direction. I said to the Lord, “What is that? And why is he doing that?” He said, “He’s going back to the roots of the beginning. This is an image of America. This is what you are about to see.”
