Dream: in 2020 the Lord gave me a dream. He showed me Governor DeSantis standing front and center. President Trump was standing just behind him. The Lord said simply, “watch DeSantis and you will see what I am doing with My nation.”
When we look at what God has been doing under the leadership of Governor DeSantis, we can see God’s plans to turn the rest of the nation around.
I assembled a list for us to encourage us in these plans
DeSantis
- Education Policies:
- Banned critical race theory in public schools through a Florida Board of Education rule in June 2021.
- Signed the Stop WOKE Act in March 2022, restricting race-based discussions in schools and businesses that imply inherent racism or guilt based on race; parts were later blocked by courts for First Amendment violations.
- Signed the Parental Rights in Education Act (HB 1557, often called “Don’t Say Gay” by critics) in March 2022, prohibiting classroom instruction on sexual orientation and gender identity from kindergarten through third grade; expanded to all grades in April 2023 unless part of required standards or optional reproductive health courses.
- Replaced the Florida Standards Assessment with progress monitoring tests starting in the 2022-2023 school year.
- Increased teacher minimum salaries with over $2 billion invested since 2020, including $800 million in the 2022 Freedom First Budget.
- Expanded workforce education programs, including $125 million for nursing education and nearly $30 million for Space Coast workforce training in 2022.
- Signed Senate Bill 7044 in 2022 to reform higher education tenure, tuition transparency, and accreditation.
- Prohibited teacher preparation programs from including critical race theory, identity politics, or DEI in 2024.
- Cracked down on frivolous book challenges while focusing on removing pornographic materials from schools in 2024.
- Empowered parents to oversee minors’ social media use, prohibiting accounts for those under 14 and requiring consent for 14-15 year olds in 2024.
- Allocated $29.7 billion for K-12 education in the 2025-2026 budget, including $1.5 billion for teacher salary increases and $766 million for workforce education.
- Signed legislation in May 2025 requiring students to learn about disabilities and easing private/homeschool students’ access to sports teams.
- Health and Reproductive Policies:
- Signed a 15-week abortion ban in April 2022, with exceptions for physical health risks or fatal fetal abnormalities but none for rape or incest; effective July 2022 after court review.
