The Ark of His Glory

My heart burns with a certain passion when I think about America once again becoming the Ark of His Glory. I meditate on Psalms 132:

How he (I) sware unto the Lord, and vowed unto the mighty God of
Jacob; Surely I will not come into the tabernacle of my house,
nor go up into my bed; I will not give sleep to mine eyes, or slumber
to mine eyelids, until I find out a place for the Lord, a habitation for
the God of Jacob.

I weep with fervent passion. I too want to find Him a dwelling place in our nation. I want Him to bear the government of our nation upon His capable shoulders. I want to see our streets safe for our children and our grandchildren. I want the poor and the foreigner to find a refuge here. When people from other nations come here because they think God has a special place in our country, I don’t want them to go to bed at night in tears because of the alienation they feel from Americans. I dream of a place where black and white, Native and Hispanic, Asian, Jew and Arab can come and find a home. I dream of a place where they can come and find God because He lives in our market places; He dwells in our synagogues and churches, Temples and Mosques. His presence swells in honest and fair dealings in our businesses, where the ghettos are as safe a place to live as our upper middle class neighborhoods. I dream of a place where the enemy has lost his foothold against the family, against the youth, and against the young children playing in the streets. I dream of a place where the divorce rate has been slashed, where there is a drug-free environment for our children in schools and in our neighborhoods. I dream of a nation where there is no longer color or race barriers, but the spirit of true brotherhood prevails. I dream of a nation whose boast is in righteousness and freedom from crime, a place where our politicians respect God’s rights as our Sovereign.

Does this seem impossible or highly improbable? Oh, but, my friend, it is a very real possibility. It is not only a possibility but a reality where The Father above finds a resting place for His glory.

We cannot provide the peace that He requires, nor the righteousness from an ungodly nation, but we can provide the broken heart of supplication and repentance for our nation’s offenses. We can provide the righteous yearning for His government that leads to deep, passionate heartfelt intercession.

Jeremiah cried in Lamentation 1:20

Behold oh Lord; for I am in distress: my bowels are troubled; mine heart
is turned within me; for I have grievously rebelled.

This is the passion with which I pray for our nation. This is the passion with which the Father desires us all to pray today. He wants our prayer, and He will give us a national revival that will rival all other revivals ever given to America. He desires it, He promises it. He spoke to me that if we would cover the nation with tears He would give us revival. If America becomes His dwelling place once again, all that I dream will be ours. The government is at rest when it rests between the King and the Priest. We the Church are His holy Priesthood. Our Father above is our King, and in His great love and mercy He has given us a Christian president. My beloved brothers and sisters, come, let us reason together with the Lord and bend our knee in supplication until His glory is poured out from on high.

Weep, weep, and weep some more until He hears our prayers and answers our petitions and grants us revival. Our children will sing and dance in the streets instead of fearing their own neighborhoods for the danger that lurks seeking to destroy. The teens that have poured out their blood upon our soil for the sake of righteousness and their testimony for the Lord will have a great harvest for their sacrifice. Schools will be the dwelling place of God once again.

Not only will our Churches be embellished with His holy presence, but the Temples, Synagogues, and Mosques that were built to another god will swell with His glorious presence. The body will walk in unity and the world will know the He has come. Once again the American Church will become the golden ark of His glory, and our nation will exemplify His holy reign.
